The company is led by Ajay Shankar, who comes from a legal background and later moved to Europe to study business and entrepreneurship.
While living in Spain and working closely with European buyers, he saw a growing shift in how companies were thinking about sourcing. Costs within Europe were rising, China was becoming less predictable, and more businesses were beginning to explore India as a serious manufacturing alternative.
At the same time, trust remained the biggest obstacle.
With deep familiarity of Indian manufacturing and direct exposure to European business culture, Polyweave was built to bridge that gap.
What began through relationships in the fishing equipment industry gradually evolved into a broader sourcing and procurement network connecting buyers across Europe with trusted manufacturers in India.
Today, Polyweave operates as a sourcing partner focused on better pricing, clearer communication, and more reliable long-term trade relationships between India and Europe.
